Is price guaranteed?
Prices are only guaranteed if full payment is made within 7 days. If full payment is not made then the price cannot be guaranteed and may increase as a result of price increases from our suppliers. If there is a special price then one of our consultants will contact you to advise and let you know when payment is due. As prices fluctuate daily the best way to secure the price is to pay immediately.

What do your prices include?
Our prices are fully inclusive and the price you see on the quote page is inclusive of 1 main driver, all taxes, associated charges and fees other rental companies may charge you as extra when you arrive at the counter. The one Way fee is also included if applicable.

Do you charge a Premium Location Fee?
No most certainly not. This is a fee that most of our competitors will add on as an excuse for doing business at a certain location. This is called Cost of doing business and our prices don’t hide anyextras on the final page such as this.

What don’t they include?
Our quoted prices do not include the cost of reducing the excess down as this can be decided on the day. Other optional extras include GPS, Baby Seats and additional drivers.

Do your Vehicles include Unlimited Mileage?

Most hire vehicles will be supplied with unlimited mileage but this can change depending on the supplier, please check the local terms & conditions before booking your vehicle

Where Can I drive?
Please note that depending on what vehicle you have there are limitations on where you can drive and which countries you can go into. Please ask for further information and ensure that if you wish to cross a boarder you are familiar with all the charges.

How Can I pay for the Hire?
We only accept payment with a valid Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex**) or Debit Card* in the name of the driver. We do not accept Bank Card (Eftpos), Diners, Cash or Cheque. You can also pay by bank Transfer – Please contact us for our bank details. ** Amex incurs 5% surcharge.
If you have no credit card then weare unable to rent a vehicle to you. We cannot accept a credit card from a friend unless they are going to be a named driver, or they have filled out a credit card authorisation form. Please contact us at sales@compasscarrental.com.au for more information. Please note to guarantee the price of the rental you have been quoted payment is due within 7 days.

What do I need to show you when renting a car?

Credit/debit card and your booking confirmation number. You’ll also need your driver’s licence and a passport Failure to do this may prevent the supplier being able to hire to you..

If I have a complaint or want to contact customer services what do I do?
If you have a problem during you rental, please inform us immediately so that we can endeavour to put things right. Compass will not hold them selves responsible for the non-performance of anything that is beyond their control or when they are not notified of a problem at the point when remedial action can be taken. In the unlikely event that a complaint cannot be resolved at the time, you should write to our Customer Services Department within 14 days of the issue arising. You can also email any issues to customerservice@compasscarrental.com.au or call+61 (0)2 9963 7200 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              (0)2 9963 7200      end_of_the_skype_highlighting. If you fail to take any of these steps this will hinder ourability to put any problem right and/or investigate it fully and any right you may have to receive compensation will be reduced or completely invalidated.

Is the make and model of my Car Guaranteed?
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the make and model of your vehicle. However, the vehicle group you have booked will be guaranteed. On the occasion whereby we are not able to provide the vehicle group you have booked. Compass reserve the right to upgrade you to the next available standard car category. If you have booked a prestige vehicle then you will be guaranteed a prestige vehicle.

What is the age limit?
Most suppliers will have a lower age limit of 25 but may, for an extra cost be able to provide a vehicle to a customer as young as 21. Upper age limits are generally 75 but please check the local terms & conditions prior to booking your vehicle.

Can I have a car out of hours?
If the local branch is not open at the time it will not give your a quote, On certain occasions we are able to supply a vehicle outside these hours however, an additional charge will be required on booking. Please contact us on +61 2 9963 7200 or email sales@compasscarrental.com.au

Do you Deliver and Pick Up?
Some suppliers will offer this service for an extra cost, if you would like to enquire further, please contact us. In the UK & Ireland a pick up service is free of charge.

What is your fuel Policy?

Each supplier operates a different fuel policy, please make yourself aware of this by reading the local terms & conditions prior to booking your vehicle. Failure to adhere to these policies may result in charges being levied.

Do your vehicles have 24 Roadside Assistance?
Yes, all our vehicles are covered with 24 roadside assistance. Depending on what vehicle you have then you need to contact the number on the back of the key fob or bottom of the rental agreement. This will cover you all mechanical problems you have with the vehicle. However roadside assistance doesnt cover all eventualities, please read the local terms & conditions to make your self aware of what is covered. Most suppliers will offer extra insurance packages to cover everything else, these can be paid for locally.

What happens if I have an accident?

Each supplier will have their own procedure to follow after an accident, this should be made clear to you when collecting the vehicle. If you have any questions please contact us or speak to your supplier before leaving their premises.

Can I reduce my liability in the event of an accident?
Most suppliers will offer additional insurance policies to reduce your excess liability, details of which are in our local terms & conditions. Arrangements for this are done locally with the supplier when collecting the vehicle.

Can I accrue Frequent flyers Points with my bookings?
Unfortunately, due to the great deals we are supplying and our contracted rates the rentals you have do not accrue Frequent flyer Points.
What do I do if I wish to extend my hire whilst overseas?
 In general you will have to pay for any extra days locally at a rate which is often higher than what you have prebooked. Please speak with the local supplier to arrange in the first instance. On occasion we may be able to help and book the extras for you. We suggest you contact your Travel Agent or Compass Cars arrange for a new voucher to cover the extra days. Payment should then be made to Compass Cars and a new voucher will be sent to a valid email address for the extension or new rental. Please note we are unable to provide this service if you don’t have access to an email address whilst travelling.

Do I need an International Driving Permit
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is a supplement to your local driving licence and proves that you hold a licence in the country you reside. It enables you to drive in some countries which don’t have English as a first language. It should be carried with your home licence and is not a substitue.
It is compulsory to possess an IDP for the following countries: Armenia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, India, Iran, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Vanuatu & United Arab Emirates.
It is recommended to possess an IDP for the following countries: Argentina, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Kenya, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Mozambique, Namibia, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Tahiti, Uganda, Uruguay, USA & Zimbabwe.
For non-English drivers licence holders, an international drivers licence is required for all countries worldwide.  Serious penalties apply if you do not carry one in the countries required.
IDPs are issued through state and motoring clubs and the cost to obtain one is no more than $50. We suggest you contact your local authority to check if you are unsure or require more details.

General Terms & Conditions

Pricing: To the best of our knowledge all pricing is correct as at the time of issue. All prices unless otherwise stated are in AUD. For the most up to date pricing please visit our website. Due to currency fluctuations and any other factors out of our control, such as tax rises, all prices are subject to change without notice.
Extra charges: All optional extras such as GPS, Baby Seats, One Way fees and Insurance Excess Reduction Options. All of these are paid at the time of rental and subject to local taxes at the time of collection.
Quotes: All quotes are valid for 7 days only. If not paid within 7 days your booking will auto cancel out.
Deposits: Unless stated at the time of booking then no deposits are required
How do I book? Contact your local travel agent or online via www.compasscarrental.com.au. You can call at no extra charge on 1300 132 835.
When Do I Pay? To guarantee the price then payment is due within 7 days of making the booking. If not paid within this period then we reserve the right to change the price without notice. If you do not wish to guarantee the price then payment is due 30 days before travel if the booking is over 30 days or within 48 hours if the booking is made within 30 days of travel.
Amendments: Unless levied by a supplier no fess are applicable for amendments
No-shows: If you do not turn up to collect your vehicle or cancel your booking in advance then the booking will be deemed a no show and no refund will be available.
Refunds: Once a rental has commenced then there are no refunds on any unused portion of the rental.
Cancellation: all bookings cancelled at least 7 days before pick up incur no cancellation charges unless levied by a supplier. If cancelling within 7 days then 1 days rental is the cancellation fee plus any supplier fees
Complaints: – should you have a complaint about your rental or service that was provided to you we ask that all are put in writing to customerservice@compasscarrental.com.au within 30 days of return from your trip. All complaints will be sent to the relevant service provider for a response.
Driver Qualifications: It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet all the driver requirements for the specific country you are driving in. Check individual Terms and conditions for further information.
Vehicle Types: These can never be guaranteed and the vehicles you see are indicative of the group you are booking, not the exact model you are receiving. Images seen are a guide only.
Payment: We accept payment via credit card (Amex 5% surcharge), Bank Transfer or for Travel Agents via Money Direct code 1Car or E-nett 204029. Upon receipt of full payment we shall send the travel documents to you via email which you must produce at the time of renting.
Frequent Flyer Points: These are not accrued with bookings made via Compass Cars
Travel Insurance: It is strongly recommended that you take out the necessary travel insurance to cover any car rental excess or loss of deposit. Contact you nearest travel agent for more details.
Responsibility and General Liability: Please note that Compass Corp Pty Ltd are not the supplier of rental vehicle and are an agent acting on and behalf of the rental supplier. Compass Car Rental cannot be held responsible for any problems that may occur as a result of your hire and are removed from any liaiblity associated with the rental vehicle you are supplied. Whilst all duty of care is taken to ensure reasonable protection Compass Corp Pty Ltd/Compass Cars shall not be held liable to any individual for any damages, injury, loss of use, delay or expenses as a result of any misdescription within this website or brochure or indeed material supplied by our suppliers, or as a result of any acts of terrorism, force majeure, riots, strikes, act of neglect, medical customs or visa requirements or general dissatisfaction with a service that has been provided by us. All duty and care has been taken to ensure all information contained is correct at the time of printing. Compass Corp are a full member of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents. This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia and any dispute shall be overseen by the correct Court of New South Wales.
